Check out this awesomeness:....just in case you missed

My Best friend did something incredible recently.

Something stupendous.

Something so amazing and awesome.

Something that required...yes required...John and I to email her the following picture at work.

That's right, she paid off her student loan. Having recently experienced John paying off his student loan we made sure we celebrated from 7000 km away. This was a big deal.

I've mentioned this before that I didn't qualify for a student loan when I was going to University for a few reasons. One being that according to the student loan people my parents should have been footing the bill for my education. The other being I had a very forward thinking Opa and Oma who opened up an RESP for me when I was young. I managed to make that last through 4 years of University. I supplimented it by working in the summer full time, taking little one off jobs on campus when I could (I once was the phone call maker for incoming students to invite them to orientation) and then in my last year of University working part time as seasonal staff at the Sprawl-Mart portait studio. So between that and being allowed to live at home I managed to get out of University debt free. I was lucky. So incredibly lucky. Obnoxiously lucky. I know that's not usually the case for most students. Especially if you're looking to pursue something more than just a Bachelors degree like my best friend who after ter BA went and got an after degree in Education. Two degrees don't come cheap.

That's why it's great that and exist. Every little thing you can save money on in University or College is a huge deal.

If you don't remember my last post about them here are some of the awesome things about them and renting your textbooks; (again sorry Canadian student friends, they don't ship to Canada yet.)

- save 40-90% off of bookstore prices
- free shipping both ways
- can highlight in the textbooks
- flexible renting periods

- 21 day guarantee. If you drop the class or don't need the book. You have 21 days to return it for a full refund.

- with every textbook rented a portion of the proceeds goes to Operation Smile

Still need a little convincing?

Pretty awesome huh?!

Want to know what else it pretty awesome? RentBack, the new initiative that allows students to rent the textbooks they own - to other students which is awesome because it makes students 2-4 times more money compared to what they'd make through buyback options! (selling their books back at the end of the semester) Isn't that awesome?!

Here's a quick little video to better explain how rentback works.

So a quick recap

- They save you money
- They donate to Operation smile
- And you can rentback

So much awesome in one place!!!

Hurray for your friend!!! I know that's a big accomplishment. My husband was only able to pay off his student loans by getting deployed twice overseas. I was like you in that I was blessed to graduate student-loan-debt-free. I've been taking classes part time and had never heard of Definitely going to check it out for next semester!
