Ashley over at After Nine to Five has organized a little special something that just grabbed my soul this morning. Something called Blog Positivity Week. The purpose?
One week dedicated to reminding us all that the blogging community
is an awesome thing to be able to be a part of.
Oh how I like that. This fell into my lap at just the right time. I've been feeling scattered and disconnected in a lot of ways. Being provided with a focus, even if it's just for my blog is a blessing.
I feel very privileged to have been blogging since 2002. However, it's been only in the last 2 years that I've really started to understand the difference being "a girl with a blog" and being "a blogger." I use to be just a girl with a blog but now I'm slowly but surely becoming a "blogger." What a learning experience this has been. Oh how my mind has been blown. Oh the things I've learned and the things I still have to learn. I keep learning and growing because the blogging community is so generous with information and guidance. Just last week I figured out how to put pictures side by side and it's because of a great blog tutorial. Hooray for community!! I feel like blog positivity week is such a great way to say thank you to a community that has taught me so much but also to pay it forward and hopefully do some of my own teaching in return.
I want to kick off this week by saying some magic words. Thank you. I've always believed in the power of saying thank you and right now I want to say thank you to my family and friends who read my blog. I don't know if any of realize how much it means to not only me but the husband. Since our move to Switzerland we've felt very cut off from those who love us back home. Blogs are a great way to connect but for us right now this blog acts as a way to stay connected. Knowing you're reading and occasionally commenting on these posts makes us feel a little closer to home. There have been days where you all feel very very far away then we see a comment and we remember, we are loved. We missed. And you're still involved in our life in a small way. So when you can, please continue to leave us some love here because your words instantly transport us closer to home and in turn, closer to you.
