10 Warm fuzzies

The following things are currently rocking my world;

1. John and I went bowling last night (yes we cheated on the annual Hammell family Christmas bowl-a-thon...John be happy I didn't call it what I normally call it). It's nice to know that no matter where you go in the world that bowling allies smell the same, bowling shoes are still ill-fitting and the beer is cheap. Oh AND because we're from North American's they made us bowl on separate teams because they saw us both as expert bowlers. Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Our friends wanted to have a ringer on each team. Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. *tear* Yes we were told bowling is exotic here.

2. Dinner with fellow ex-pats in Bern

3. We now have 7 boxes of KD. I think we will trade them with fellow Canadian ex-pats like cigarettes in jail.

4. It has been an epic mail week at chez Ham-tin. KD, a copy of Canadian Living, jello, chipets, a kitkat, some davids tea, peanut butter cups, a reusable bag made out of derby material, baking soda...so many things. So much love. It's the care and thoughtfulness that meant most. The love and reminder we're not forgotten about.

5. Our very pretty greek friend told me my hair was perfect yesterday. I love her.

6. My best friend and I had tea together today. Sure it was via facebook chat but that doesn't matter. We had tea together in two different time zones and two different countries and it was grand.

7. That even though we had 2.5 hours added to our supposedly 2 hour trip to see the Matterhorn last weekend John saw it as an adventure. Yes we should have gotten there in 2 hours. But due to an accident on the line we were on our train was stopped and we had to take the more round about and scenic route which included a lot of waiting and being on trains. 4.5 hours to get there. 2 hours to get home. I was not in the best mood, but John didn't care. It was an adventure.

8. Christmas stuff is out in full force here. Normally I would roll my eyes at the thought but some how Christmas in Europe isn't as cheesy as North America.

9. This song

10. In the next three months John will be traveling to Indonesia, Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan and maybe Ghana.

Bonus warm fuzzy: The whole "hey look hamels" when I see sheep is still funny....so very very funny.

  1. Your Opa said that after the war he could trade 2 cigarettes ( from his Red Cross package ) for a loaf of bread! Imagine what you could get for a box of KD or a KitKat!
