Have you met Planète Chocolat?

One of the greatest things ever said in our apartment was the following,
"It's like being punched in the mouth by a chocolate angel!"
Sadly, I can't take credit for that bit of amazingly descriptive language. It was Johnathan and he was talking about his first piece of  Planète Chocolat chocolate. And if you know my husband at all you know he is not a big fan of sweets or anything overly chocolate. Honestly, he's one of the few people I know who doesn't like dessert. So for him to enjoy these chocolate and sing their praises is a big deal.
LUXURIOUS BOX OF HEART
When it comes to chocolate I don't discriminate. Chocolate is chocolate is chocolate and it is created so I can eat way too much of it. Growing up in Canada the chocolate selection was pretty awesome. To this day I have a soft spot in my heart for Coffee Crisp (do you like your coffee crisp?) but when I moved to Europe my chocolate palate expanded (and my chocolate loving heart exploded.) Who knew there was such a vast world of incredible chocolate to be devoured?

I found out about Planète Chocolat recently, before I even tried them I really liked that all of their chocolates are made of 100% pure cocoa butter, without GM foods or conservatives. They are not industrial chocolatiers either.
Planète Chocolat is a Belgian artisan chocolatier located in the heart of Brussels close to the famous Manneken-Pis and the Grand-Place.The chocolate has been made in the traditional style of yesteryear since 1991 by a team of chocolate lovers playing with their creativity to fuse the great taste of Belgian chocolate into new forms. Planète Chocolat's ambition is to preserve the role of art in food, an art form which is ephemeral but continually being reproduced. The medium itself, chocolate, enjoys an image which is both prestigious and Belgian. We felt this should also be true of the shape. So we decided to get Belgian artists to design our chocolates, artists representing very diverse artistic trends. These little pieces of Belgian chocolate thus become ambassadors for Belgium abroad.
Yes, they're Belgian.

"But Tatiana, you live in Switzerland...you have Swiss chocolate...it's a thing..."

Like I said, I don't discriminate when it comes to chocolate so I was more than game to try these.

They offer 24 hr express delivery which is amazing! It was incredibly warm the day the chocolates arrived. Honestly, I was worried. I've mailed enough chocolate to know that warm weather and chocolate can spell disaster. But my package arrived with ice packs in an insulated box. YAY!

When I torn open the box (I have exactly no chill around getting fun mail) I found a lovely velvet bag. The presentation and the package just stole my heart. I'm a sucker for beautiful packaging but I must say this is one of the prettiest things I've ever gotten in the mail.

These chocolate hearts were not only incredibly tasty, but absolutely beautiful to look at. I honestly felt a little bad eating them...but only a little.

I had a wonderful variety of milk chocolate, dark chocolate and two pieces of white chocolate. The flavour combinations were brilliant, who knew I would like dark chocolate and violet ganache?

At this point I'm sure you're wondering, "Tatiana isn't going to send me chocolate herself, so how to get some of these?"

They have global shipping!

"But what about Switzerland, a lot place say they're global but then say, except Switzerland."

Don't worry my Swiss friends, they have chocolate delivery in Switzerland too!

So if you're Swiss and want to have your own Swiss vs Belgian chocolate throw down please check out Planète Chocolat. Heck, anyone should order from them really. With Christmas coming up who wouldn't want to receive a stunning box of chocolates in the mail?

I give Planète Chocolat 5 very chocolate covered thumbs up.

Now if you will excuse me, I need to finish eating the rest of the box before my husband finds it.
